Montlake Deck project

Seamless Outdoor Living – Montlake Deck Project
This deck rebuild project demonstrates the balance of precision framing and contemporary design. Built with durable composite materials and detailed carpentry, it transforms a simple backyard into an elegant and functional extension of the home. The result is a clean, low-maintenance deck that enhances outdoor living while complementing the property’s architectural character.

What Was Done

Framing & Structure

The existing deck was fully removed and replaced with a reinforced frame built from pressure-treated lumber. Each joist and beam was aligned for optimal load capacity and long-term stability.

Decking Installation

Premium composite decking was installed using hidden fasteners for a seamless, screw-free surface. Precision mitered corners and custom fascia wrapping define the craftsmanship and attention to geometric alignment.

Stairs & Detailing

Low-profile steps were integrated into the design with the same decking material, achieving a cohesive, modern aesthetic. The layout supports smooth transitions from interior to exterior, making the space both practical and visually continuous.

Finish & Protection

Every component was installed for maximum longevity and minimal maintenance — weather-resistant, fade-proof, and ready for year-round Northwest conditions.

Our Process

Step 1
Consultation & Planning. Removed the existing deck and cleared the base for a new, code-compliant foundation.
Step 2
Design & Selections. Installed pressure-treated framing and precise leveling to ensure long-term durability and water drainage.
Step 3
Construction & Installation. Laid boards with a hidden fastening system, creating a refined and uniform surface with seamless edges.
Step 4
Finishing Touches. Wrapped the deck edges and steps for a monolithic appearance with precise corner joinery.
Step 5
Project Handover. Each line and joint was reviewed to meet DM Construction Group’s standard of craftsmanship — structural integrity, clean design, and enduring beauty.
